I assure you, it is not the program, because I have tried Skype, Cameroid, the LifeCam program that the USB webcam came with, and much more. I think it recognizes them, but just won't connect to them for some reason. It says the same warning message when I try to connect the Microsoft LifeCam VX-6000 that I have to the Acer Crystal Eye Webcam program. One of the very few issues that you might have with this laptop is its battery life. For other countries, click United Kingdom at bottom-right of page. NCH Debut immediately found the camera and can do all sorts of wonderful things with it. Then I downloaded NCH Debut Video Capture Software (a free program) and installed it in place of the Acer Crystal Eye software. I decided to leave the windows7 driver in place and let it recognise the camera as a usb (it's not). Nothing to my knowledge happened to make it stop, I just came home one day and it wouldn't work.
